Meet the Owner
Edward Cochran
Founder, SAFE
For over 40 years Edward Cochran has kept commercial and educational organizations and their customers safe and secure. As a licensed Professional Engineer with experience in emergency medical services, he has worked with international building codes, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, and has design/build experience in commercial and educational facilities.
Edward began his career in design/build and facility management with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Longhorn Steakhouse. He then began working with education institutions and added safety education, security operations and maintenance protocals to his responsibiites. He has experience as a consultant working with demolition, toxic waste disposal, and hazardous material testing. He now helps organizations develop safety, security, and maintenance precautions and methods.
As our world has become more complex, Edward has seen the need for greater coordination between teams. With working plans and protocols in place and everyone knowledgeable about them, unforseen events can be navigated with the least amount of risk and best case to recovery and mitigation.
Our Approach
Plan with purpose. Prepare with confidence.
SAFE's approach to preparedness is to understand the facilities, organization, and people using the facilities to assess potential risk areas, then develop practical recommendations.
Our philosphy is best described by the Biblical figure of Nehemiah who was building a wall around Jerusalem while his enemies plotted against him. He said, "We prayed to God and set a guard as a protection against them day and night". This worldview encompasses what we believe. As hostility toward people, businesses, and institutions that hold to traditional and moral and spiritual values increases, the neeed for safety and facility education becomes imperative: pray first, then post a guard.
